JBS USA has announced a $200 million investment to expand and upgrade its beef production facilities, with projects scheduled to commence in 2025. This strategic initiative comes at a time when the beef industry is facing supply constraints.
The planned enhancements include a new state-of-the-art fabrication floor, an expanded ground beef room, and the construction of a new distribution center. The new facilities will be built in Cactus, Texas, and Greeley, Colorado. These upgrades are designed to improve operational efficiency and potentially increase production capacity, benefiting cattle producers, employees, and rural economies. The expansion is expected to be completed within 18 to 24 months.
JBS USA employs more than 7,500 workers across its affected facilities and allocates over $6 billion annually for livestock procurement. This investment reinforces the company’s long-term commitment to the U.S. beef industry, supporting farmers, ranchers, and rural communities while strengthening the overall supply chain.
Beyond facility improvements, JBS USA actively supports its communities through initiatives like Hometown Strong and Better Futures. Since 2020, the company has invested over $15 million in community projects, including park renovations, educational programs, and affordable housing. Additionally, more than 500 employees and their children have enrolled in JBS’s tuition-free community college assistance program, with over 30 graduates since its inception in 2021.
These strategic investments highlight JBS USA’s dedication to enhancing production capabilities while fostering economic growth and workforce development in the regions it operates.
