Landus Launches SkyScout to Transform Field Scouting with AI and Aerial Technology

211

Landus has introduced SkyScout, a new aerial scouting and analytics platform designed to give farmers faster and more accurate insights into crop health. By combining drone and fixed-wing imaging with artificial intelligence and predictive analytics, the tool aims to help farmers detect problems early and improve decision-making in the field.

SkyScout provides high-resolution aerial scans of fields every 12 days, alerting users to critical concerns such as poor emergence, weed pressure, nutrient deficiencies, disease risks, and overall crop stress. One of its standout features is thermal imaging, which can predict disease outbreaks up to two weeks in advance and detect problems with up to 95% accuracy.

Unlike other tools that simply generate raw data, SkyScout includes field-by-field analysis from Landus agronomy experts. These professionals review imagery and provide tailored recommendations, helping farmers take direct action, from precise applications of nutrients or herbicides to early intervention on emerging issues.

The platform also supports broader crop management strategies. With detailed insights, growers can adjust seed and tillage plans, optimize nitrogen and fertilizer use, and better manage inputs to prevent hidden yield losses.

SkyScout is now available to Iowa farmers. Those interested can contact their Landus representative or visit landus.ag for more information and pricing.
