PROTECTION FOR CALVES AGAINST THE LEADING CAUSE OF BACTERIAL PNEUMONIA AND TWO MAJOR CAUSES OF BOVINE RESPIRATORY DISEASE
Zoetis Canada announces the launch of ONE SHOT BVD, for protection against Mannheimia haemolytica— the primary cause of bacterial pneumonia and the leading cause of calf mortality1,2—and bovine viral diarrhea (BVD) type 1 and 2 viruses—two major causes of bovine respiratory disease (BRD).
ONE SHOT BVD
ONE SHOT BVD is indicated for vaccination of healthy cattle to prevent viremia caused by bovine virus diarrhea (BVD) virus Types 1 and 2, and as an aid in preventing respiratory disease caused by BVD virus Types 1 and 2 and bovine pneumonia caused by Mannheimia haemolytica type A1. A duration of immunity of at least 9 months has been demonstrated against BVD virus Types 1 and 2 respiratory disease. ONE SHOT BVD: • Provides a high level of protection against M. haemolytica and BVD Types 1 and 2 viruses. • Helps neutralize M. haemolytica leukotoxins before they can destroy white blood cells and lead to lung damage. • Ensures rapid protection against M. haemolytica and BVD respiratory disease.3
TOGETHER, ONE SHOT BVD + INFORCE 3® PROVIDE COMPLETE RESPIRATORY PROTECTION FOR CALVES
INFORCE 3 and ONE SHOT BVD can provide rapid, lasting protection against key causes of respiratory diseases.4 When vaccinated with INFORCE 3, immunosuppressed cattle demonstrated an equivalent or greater innate and adaptive local immune response to infectious bovine rhinotracheitis (IBR) than those vaccinated up to 12 days before stressful events.5 Use ONE SHOT BVD and INFORCE 3 concurrently at branding or turnout.

INFORCE 3 is indicated for vaccination of healthy cattle, including pregnant cows, for the prevention of respiratory disease caused by BRSV, and as an aid in preventing respiratory disease caused by IBR and PI3. INFORCE 3: • A single intranasal dose rapidly provides protection where viruses attack first. • Provides lasting protection against IBR respiratory disease. • The first and only respiratory vaccine labeled for the prevention of disease caused by BRSV.
BRD: A DANGEROUS THREAT TO CALVES
Bovine respiratory disease is the main cause of death 3 weeks to weaning1 and causes 75% of feedlot illnesses and 50% of feedlot deaths among beef cattle.6,7,8 BRD impacts the health, productivity and profitability of a herd—and can cost cattle producers up to US$240/head.9,10 It’s not just a feedlot disease — BRD can have a big impact on cow/calf operations, particularly in young calves.1 By applying 25 years of vaccine research and enhanced manufacturing methods, Zoetis developed unique solutions to help ensure our respiratory vaccines provide a high level of protection and ensure cattle receive the maximum health benefits of immunization.
