Our shared experience during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic has underlined the important contribution of essential workers in the meat and livestock supply chain. This group includes Canadians employed in the farm, processing, retail, foodservice, and distribution sectors as well as suppliers, veterinary and inspection personnel.  As part of the ongoing efforts to protect the health and well-being of everyone in our industry, a COVID-19 Essentials training resource has been developed which provides information on the four topics below.

  1. Understanding COVID-19
  2. Staying Safe at Home
  3. Staying Safe at Work
  4. Self-Care and Symptom Assessment

The training materials are currently available in PDF format in English, French, Spanish, Tagalog, Simplified Chinese, Portuguese and shortly Tigrinya. Canada Beef will partner with organizations requiring additional languages by covering 50 per cent of the translation costs.

The training materials in English are also available for FREE on the Canadian Beef Centre of Excellence (CBCE) Learning Management System (LMS). The LMS provides the capability to confirm that your personnel have completed the review of the materials through a registration process. For organizations that have more 50 people, the CBCE can provide a dedicated access code that will allow you to obtain a report on participation by your staff. This service can be requested by contacting Mathieu Pare, Executive Director of the CBCE at mpare@canadabeef.ca.

The Public Health Agency of Canada has reviewed the COVID-19 Essentials information. Always consult with your doctor or government health authorities for any medical questions or concerns.

The training materials can be accessed by clicking here or by entering the URL below and in the future on the websites of collaborating national associations in the beef and pork sectors.
