Lylester Ranch has become the proud new owner of POLLARD Rita 4012, purchasing the 2025 Angus Foundation Heifer Package for $75,000. The sale took place on January 10 at the National Angus Bull Sale during Cattlemen’s Congress in Oklahoma City.
The heifer package, donated by Pollard Farms of Waukomis, Oklahoma, supports the Angus Foundation’s mission to advance education, youth development, and research in the Angus industry. Since its inception in 1980, the program has raised more than $3 million to sustain scholarships, leadership conferences, and innovative research initiatives.
About the 2025 Heifer Package
This year’s package featured POLLARD Rita 4012 (AAA* 20875621), a promising daughter of EXAR Cover the Bases 0819B. She hails from a productive two-year-old dam linked to PF W34 Rita 4139, a long-time cornerstone donor in Pollard Farms’ program.
In addition to the heifer, the package included:
- An Advanced Reproductive Technology Package from Trans Ova Genetics.
- Trucking to the buyer, courtesy of Lathrop Livestock Transportation.
- 30 days of mortality insurance provided by Jeanne Conover of Conover Auction Service.
Pollard Farms, established in 1992, has built a reputation for producing elite Angus cattle. With a donor battery of 30 top-tier cows and 400 performance females, the farm produces 400-500 calves annually. Their breeding program emphasizes marbling, $Value indexes, maternal strength, and phenotypic excellence, catering to both purebred and commercial cattlemen.
