America’s Heartland Packing is in the final stages of completing its new state-of-the-art processing plant in Warren County, Missouri, with operations now expected to begin in April. The $800 million facility, a division of Wisconsin-based American Foods Group (AFG) LLC, will eventually process more than 2,400 cattle per day within its 775,000-square-foot space. The plant will include a harvest floor, carcass chillers, fabrication area, rendering operations, further processing sections, storage coolers, freezers, and loading docks.

Initially set to open this month, the facility’s launch has been slightly delayed as final preparations are made. AFG has already hired approximately 400 employees, with plans to expand to a 1,300-member workforce.

As part of its commitment to the local community, AFG also invested $140 million in a new water treatment facility east of Wright City, Missouri. Developed in partnership with the regional public water supply district, the modern system replaces an outdated lagoon system and increases treatment capacity sevenfold.
