Today at the Ontario Stockyards Inc. there are 30 fed steers & heifers, 175 cows & 15 bulls on offer.
Cows and bulls are selling steady with good thicker cows selling slightly stronger. 800 stockers are expected for Thursday’s sale.

U.S. Trade (U.S. funds)
The U.S. cash cattle trade was active on Tuesday with prices in the south up $1.00-$2.00 cwt from last week from $139.00-$141.00, mainly $140.00-$141.00 live. In the north some live trade was noted from $143.00-$145.00 up $1.00-$2.00 while dressed deals ranged from $228.00-$232.00, mainly $230.00 up $4.00 cwt. Today, bids in Nebraska have surfaced from $145.00-$146.00 live but no trade has surfaced, and all other feeding states are quiet. Asking price on the remaining cattle are at $142.00-$143.00 live in the south and $234.00 plus dressed in the north.
At the Central Stockyards online auction today there were 3,052 head on offer, in 18 lots. Three lots sold from $134.00-$135.00 live, all Holsteins. Three lots of beef breeds sold from $140.00-$140.25 live, up $1.00 from last week. 12 lots were unsold with reserve bids from $142.00-$148.00 live not being met.
