The Honourable Lawrence MacAulay, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, announced a $7.2 million investment in four projects under the AgriInnovate Program, part of the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership. This funding aims to foster innovation, enhance sustainability, and strengthen Canada’s agriculture sector.

  • CRO Quail Farms Inc. (Saint Anns, ON) will receive up to $1.6 million to implement automated production and packaging systems, establishing the first large-scale quail production facility in North America. The initiative addresses labor shortages, reduces costs, and positions the company as a leader in the growing quail market.
  • KSM Inc. (Tring-Jonction, QC) has been awarded up to $5 million to establish Canada’s first large-scale facility producing Potassium Sulphate (SOP) and Potassium Magnesium Sulphate (SOPM) fertilizers. This innovative, energy-efficient process reduces greenhouse gas emissions and reliance on imported fertilizers, benefiting local industries and sustainable farming.
  • Solution Aleop Inc. (Québec, QC) will receive up to $371,250 to enhance and commercialize Aleop, a digital tool that automates administrative tasks and tracks production costs for agricultural businesses. This platform supports efficiency, resource management, and overall sector sustainability.
  • Axceta Inc. (Longueuil, QC) has been allocated up to $255,353 to demonstrate an ultrasound gauge technology for real-time inventory management in feed silos. This innovation optimizes feed supply, reduces waste, and supports sustainable agricultural operations.
