Beef Day is a producer led annual event, targeted to the continuum of Beef Cattle producers that make up the Beef Industry – Cow-Calf Operations, Backgrounding and Feed Lot/Finishing producers.
The purpose of Beef Day is to provide an opportunity for beef producers to meet and be educated on the latest technology; discuss pertinent marketing issues; learn about health/nutrition topics, and much more; and interact and exchange ideas with fellow beef farmers.
There are two key objectives that the organizing committee strives to achieve daily. The information shared will be linked “back to the cow”. Organizers also hope that producers can implement at least two ideas as soon as they return back to their operations.
Her presentation will summarize the findings of over 10 years of cattle transport research with focus on methods of stress assessment and findings regarding the effects of transport duration, environmental conditions, animal type, trailer design and rest stops on animal outcomes.
