Meats by Linz, a beef processor near Chicago renowned for its dry-aged beef favored by steakhouses, is opening a new facility in Hammond, Indiana, just across the state border.

Local media reports that the 120,000-square-foot facility will bring 300 jobs to the area and create 50 more positions. Requests for comment from both the city of Hammond and Meats by Linz have gone unanswered.

The facility, developed over two years, is located in a former candy plant. It features a full set of backup generators to safeguard its valuable inventory in the event of a power outage.
