Anne Ilse Anderson of Austin, Texas has been named the 2025 recipient of the Cattlemen’s Beef Board’s Beef Checkoff Visionary Award. The honor will be presented on July 8 during the Cattle Industry Summer Business Meeting in San Diego, California. Now in its fifth year, the award recognizes individuals who have shown outstanding leadership and commitment to advancing the Beef Checkoff’s mission.
Anderson, who co-owns a cow-calf operation in Texas Hill Country with her husband Jim and partner Brett Morris, has spent more than 40 years advocating for the beef industry. Their operation includes purebred Speckled Park and Speckled Park/Angus cross cattle.
Beginning her professional career as a clinical dietitian, Anderson later transitioned into agricultural leadership, combining expertise in nutrition with her passion for beef production. She was the founding executive vice president of the Texas Beef Council (TBC) from 1986 to 1995, expanding it from a one-person office to a team of 25.
Throughout her career, Anderson has played key roles in multiple organizations, including the Texas Cattle Feeders Association, American National CattleWomen, and the International Livestock Congress. She chaired the Cattlemen’s Beef Board in 2016 and continues to serve on its Safety & Innovation committee. She also contributed to the creation of educational programs like Beef 101 and Beef 706, and helped launch initiatives such as AgInfoLink, a food-tracking technology company.
Anderson holds bachelor’s degrees in food and nutrition and home economics education from the University of Texas at Austin, and a master’s degree with concentrations in business and consumer education from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Her decades-long dedication to producer education, consumer engagement, and strategic program development have made her a key contributor to the Beef Checkoff’s evolution.
