With changing traceability regulations expected for 2019, producers will face increased responsibilities around timely reporting of data, transportation information and premises identification obligations in order to be considered compliant. The Canadian Cattle Identification Agency (CCIA) is making it easier for producers to report the mandatory data and stay compliant with the new and improved Canadian Livestock Tracking System (CLTS) MOBO app.

The upgraded app enables easy access to the CLTS database from Android and iPhone devices. The app is more user-friendly than the basic MOBO app launched back in 2010 to provide producers with the flexibility needed to meet increased demands for livestock traceability regulations on the go. The new CLTS MOBO app’s streamlined features and intuitive design amps up those offerings, for example, a new ‘Offline Mode’ allows users to input-data and upload when it makes sense for them; when the job is finished or when they are back in a service area.

CLTS MOBO allows users to submit birthdates, animal movement and retired events (to name a few), directly to the CLTS database. CLTS MOBO features Optical Character Recognition technology, which converts images of number lists into editable, searchable data for easy uploads to their CLTS account.

The app is available as a free download on Android and Apple devices. Please visit the CCIA Resource Centre for step-by-step instructions http://support.canadaid.ca/ or call at 1-877-909-2333. CCIA’s Client Support Representatives are trained on new enhancements and can educate users and answer any questions.
