dsm-firmenich Animal Nutrition & Health has partnered with Bureau Veritas Solutions Denmark A/S to improve credible sustainability measurement in the animal protein sector. Through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), the collaboration will leverage and verify dsm-firmenich’s Sustell™—a leading life cycle assessment (LCA) platform.
Sustell™ helps producers measure and reduce environmental impacts, including greenhouse gas emissions, across animal production systems. Bureau Veritas, a global leader in testing, inspection, and certification, will provide third-party verification to ensure accurate reporting and validated emission reductions.
This partnership aims to transform sustainability from a cost into a value-generating opportunity. By enabling producers to quantify and monetize carbon footprint reductions through improved animal nutrition, the collaboration supports productivity, profitability, and compliance with sustainability targets.
For the industry, this means stronger environmental credentials, improved traceability, and enhanced access to premium markets demanding verified sustainable practices. It also supports alignment with evolving regulatory and consumer expectations, helping producers stay competitive while contributing to climate goals.
