A months-long investigation by the Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association (TSCRA) led to the arrest of two men and the issuance of warrants for two others in connection with the theft of 82 head of cattle. The crime, spanning multiple ranches and a sale barn, involved charges of livestock theft and organized criminal activity.

Joey Dickey, 43, was apprehended in Wise County and transferred to the Cherokee County Jail in Oklahoma, while Brian Tribble, 58, was arrested in Tarrant County and moved to the Wise County Jail. Warrants have been issued for Braxton Calvert, 26, and Timothy Greer, 42, who are also believed to be involved in the theft ring.

The investigation, which began in June 2024, took a pivotal turn in November when a TSCRA market inspector spotted a branded cow at a West Texas sale barn. This discovery led to the identification of a suspect and set the course for further investigation. Special Ranger John Vance, alongside local detectives, gathered key evidence, interviewed witnesses, and conducted suspect interrogations. Their efforts revealed the theft ring’s operation across four counties in Texas and Oklahoma.

The case was successfully brought to prosecution thanks to the cooperation of the Cherokee County and Wise County sheriff’s offices, which assisted in the investigation and arrests.
