Livestock Water Recycling (LWR) proudly announces that it has been selected as FINALIST in the Water Management & Quality category in the THRIVE Global Impact Challenge. This global competition serves as a beacon for innovative startups driving the transformation of agriculture toward a more sustainable future. As part of this competition, there is a People’s Choice Award that is open for voting until Thursday, October 26th.

The Water Management & Quality category looks to address the critical need for sustainable water management as well as the conservation of water resources. It actively seeks solutions that promote efficient water usage, elevate water quality, and ensure access to clean water for all. This overarching theme encompasses a wide spectrum of technologies and practices related to water conservation, water treatment, wastewater management, and water monitoring. Prioritizing water management and quality is pivotal to safeguarding ecosystems, protecting human health, and fostering equitable access to this invaluable resource.

LWR has emerged as a finalist from a highly competitive field of over 900 applicants spanning 87 countries. All of the finalists will converge on Silicon Valley for the THRIVE Global Impact Summit on November 2nd where they will compete for top honors.

John Hartnett, Founder and CEO of SVG Ventures|THRIVE, remarked, “Our selected finalists epitomize the forefront of agritech innovation in the global startup arena, presenting solutions with the potential to transform agriculture on a global scale.”

Disruptive innovation is the cornerstone of a sustainable, inclusive, and equitable future. Aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, the Global Impact Challenge revolves around four central themes, each integral to facilitating the transition to a net-zero future for agriculture. LWR actively contributes to these vital objectives. In fact, LWR’s First Wave and PLANT systems have the potential to treat over 3.5 billion gallons of manure and digestate annually. Their goal is to transform ONE TRILLION GALLONS of manure and food waste bioliquids into recycled clean water by 2050, directly impacting 10 of the UN’s Sustainable Development goals!

“We are honored to be recognized as a finalist in the THRIVE Global Impact Challenge’s Water Management & Quality category. At LWR, we are committed to revolutionizing water management and quality to create a more sustainable and equitable future for agriculture. This acknowledgment fuels our dedication to this mission, and we look forward to making a lasting impact on global agriculture” says Karen Schuett, Co-Founder CEO of LWR.

The THRIVE Global Impact Summit is presented in partnership with ICL, Driscoll’s, Koch, Land O’Lakes, BASF, Bayer, Microsoft, United Farmers of Alberta Co-operative, Krone and Alberta Innovates.
